CD-Packages; Not a commonly used product but some professionals such as singer, programmers, game designers, graphic designers as well as some schools that wish to have a very professional way to present their products are in need of CD packages and we, here at HikePrint made it easy for them.
CD covers are printed offset on multiple premium paper stock.
The available papers are:
- 100lb Gloss Book (text) with Aqueous Coating (C2S)
- Recycled 80lb Dull Text with Matte Finish.
CD covers can not be printed on thick paper to be able to slide into the CD boxes.
There are two type of packaging, one is the single panel which is 4.75”x4.75” and it can be color on one side or two sides or it can be double panel which folds into 4.75”x4.75” and again it can be one side color or two sided. There is also a tray card that goes on the back of the CD box. You can choose to print with or without back tray card.
Please note that the CD case is not included in products and our CD inserts are compatible for hand-fed inserting only.
The required bleed for CD cover is 0.05” for each side. That will add 0.1” to each dimension. For example 4.75×4.75 cover with the full bleed should be 4.85×4.85
When you are preparing your artwork please make sure
- The size of the artwork is right (ex: 4.75”x4.75”)
- It includes bleed (ex: 4.85”x4.85”)
- It is designed in CMYK mode
- It has 300-350 dpi resolution
- It is in right format: TIF, TIFF, JPG, EPS, PNG, AI, PSD, and PDF
You will be asked to upload files for each side and for the tray card if select the “with tray card” option.
You can download the right template of your product prior to design and set up your file from our template page.
The template will help you to have the right size, right resolution, the correct mode of color, enough bleed for cutting and the limits for folding (if applicable). Of course the template layer needs to be turned off or removed before the print ready artwork is generated.
For more information regarding resolution and the instruction to set up the print ready file you can visit our “Preparing Files” page.
