We won’t let you down when it’s come to postcard printing. Here at hikeprint.com there are three ways to order postcards.

First Option:

The first option is to upload your digital camera ready artwork. This is when you are a graphic artist and you have a graphic design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign etc. or you have a graphic artist who is taking care of you design needs.

If you have the artwork ready just make sure it meets our requirement:

  1. Size is right (ex: 6”x4”)
  2. It includes bleed (ex: 6.1”x4.1”)
  3. It is designed in CMYK mode
  4. It has 300-350 dpi resolution
  5. It is in right format: TIF, TIFF, JPG, EPS, PNG, AI, PSD, and PDF

The required bleed for postcards is 0.05” for each edge or 0.1 for each dimension. For example a 5”x7” postcard with full bleed should be 5.1” x 7.1”.

If you are not sure what is this requirement you can download the right template from our template page and start designing your card or place your card into our postcard template to make sure it’s in right size and resolution.

For more help you can also visit our “Preparing Files” page and if you still have question you can contact us via email at: support@hikeprint.com or call us during business hours (PST)

Second Option:

The second way is to design it online using our online design program that has Quick Designer mode and Advanced Designer mode. You can learn more about using online design programs by visiting the tutorial page.

In the quick designer mode you will be directed to our categorized album where you can find a lot of free images and backgrounds to use for your postcards. In this mode the layout is ready and you just need to put your information on the card and process with printing. You can also transfer your designed layout to the advance designer mode where you can move the items around.

In the Advance Designer mode you can do some basic designs, move the texts around, insert images, draw shapes, enlarge items etc.

The interesting thing about using our online tools is that it will cost you less to place your order to print.

The third way to order postcard with us is to ask us to design a postcard for you and put in print. You can fill out the design request form or you can send us your instruction and information you wish to put on your card and we will contact you after receiving and reviewing your files.

UV Coating:

The UV coating (UltraViolet Coating) is applied on the color sides of the gloss coated cover postcards which is a very glossy, shiny coating. It’s cured on a special machine using ultraviolet light. These special UV coatings harden, or cure when they receive ultra violet radiation.

UV coating makes your postcards eye catching.

On UV coated postcard you will not be able to write with a pen, so we put an option “No UV Coating on the back” in case you need to write addresses on your cards. There is no extra charge to put or remove UV coating from your product.
